This year we started off of a secluded beach on the west side of North Haven. Swim started at 7:25 AM. Tide was flooding into Noyac and Little Peconic Bay. High tide was at 9:34 AM. Wind was 6 kts out of the N. Swimmers started together and then quickly broke into (2) separate groups.
This years route put swimmers into the thick of the bay early on with average depths ranging from 25-40 ft throughout the swim. The front group of swimmers completed the 3 mile crossing at 9:00 AM with the trail group finishing at 9:45 AM. Another one in the books!
